LOOKING FOR DANCERS : GESTE Company of Dancers
The Layman Group is making early preparations for the recruitment and training of the GESTE Company of Dancers’ premiere ensemble. We are in the search for focused and dedicated individuals who have a sincere passion for the craft of dance, as well as a knack for creativity and collaboration.
Over the summer, and into winter we will be holding regularly scheduled OPEN SESSIONS where all interested individuals are welcomed to come meet each other and train under our artistic leadership and teaching artists. Throughout this period we will make ensemble selections from the Open Session attendees, who will then begin rehearsing in January for our premiere performance, Heavy on the Lightly.
Experience is NOT required to attend our Open Sessions, we only ask that you take each Open Session seriously, and have the will to work extremely hard.

SET DESIGNER NEEDED
We are in need of Set Designer on our premiere full-length theatrical production, ART by Yasmina Reza. So, we’re having an Open Call for design submissions!
In your design, we want to see your personal creative interpretation of the play. Your vision. Your imagination. Take time to read and research the play, past productions, reviews of the play, etc. Think outside the box, and use every ounce of your creative license.
What we need is a color illustration of your vision for the set. Send us the illustration as an image file (jpeg or gif) to our Production Manager, Marion Park at marion@thelaymangroup.org by July 15th. We will soon after make our decision on the submissions, and bring the winning designer/artist onboard for the remainder of the production.

“ART” AUDITIONS
The Layman Group, a bourgeoning nonprofit Arts organization based in Auburn, Alabama are holding auditions for its premiere full-length theatrical production. Actors are encouraged to prepare a 1-minute, contemporary, comedic or dramatic monologue. Not required, but strongly encouraged. We will also provide a few monologue options. Be prepared for cold readings. Casting will be untraditional. All types, ethnicities, and ages are strongly encouraged to audition. However, characters are all MALE.
