We are so very excited about this creative addition to our Artist Programs!
First, we have to say KUDOS and THANK YOU to the originator of the contract, film director and Layman Group creative advisor, Earl Newton. Earl has been a supportive voice to TLG since its inception. We are truly lucky to have his creative mind in our corner!
The Artist Contract modifies the original version of a self-imposed contract of artistic accountabiliy developed by Earl Newton in support of his own creative productivity. After having a read through of the contract, we couldn't help but think of how many other artists/creatives could benefit from adopting the same type of personal declartion! So, after tweaking a few passages, and adding a broader base aesthetic to the contract, we've come up with a document that we'd love to challenge all Alabama artists (and others) to adopt as a tool for consistent, professional, artistic motivation!
This contract is simply our way of showing our support for artists in the pursuit or continuation of thier professional careers. It shows we understand the day-to-day challenges artists face, and that having a support system (like TLG) that can assist in keeping you creatively honest and on your toes, in the end, can serve as a huge benefit.
ALL ARTISTS, and creatives of any medium, are free to download The Artist Contract to read. If you, "The Artist," accepts the terms of the contract, please sign it and either mail it to our downtown Auburn office (see CONTACT US), or email it directly to our Artist Programs Director, Carrie Nenstiel, at carrie@thelaymangroup.org.
Once we have recieved your signed Artist Contract, we will return a signed copy to you and set up a time to discuss (email, in person, Skype, etc.) your short and long term goals relating to the contract. Any questions regarding the Artist Contract can be forwarded to Carrie as well.
ARTIST APPRECIATION GIFT
This modest monetary gift of appreciation is given randomly to artists whose work and dedication to their craft inspires us and others about the world of Art and Creativity, and often those artists who contribute their time and energy to our organization.

The Layman Group's REP/INC division is dedicated towards providing individual artists with both guidance & resources in futhering their creative careers. Support within this division includes website development, fundraising, public relations, time management, booking, production and more.
